Pentland Brands Limited, parent to Speedo, is seeking an Associate Merchant to support a growing portfolio of SMU and Exclusive product in the US. The role emphasizes accurate data handling, sample tracking, and timely reporting to enable senior team members to focus on commercial strategy and account engagement.

In this fast‑paced environment you will manage product data in PLM/DeSL, assist with seasonal workflows, and contribute to competitive analysis and pricing decisions while collaborating

Qualifications

• 1–3 years experience in merchandising, buying or related function.
• Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
• Proficient with data systems (PLM, ERP or similar) and Excel.
• Able to manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
• Interest in retail, product trends and market dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage product samples with timely tracking and distribution.
• Support seasonal sample workflows and cross-functional needs.
• Enter and maintain product data in PLM and DeSL systems.

Key Purpose:

The Associate Merchant will support the Market Merchandising team in managing a growing portfolio of SMU (Special Make-Up) and Exclusive product. This role is critical in enabling the team to operate more strategically by taking ownership of key operational and administrative merchandising tasks. Working closely with senior team members, this position will ensure accurate data management, efficient sample handling, and timely reporting, allowing the broader team to focus on commercial strategy, account engagement, and in-season agility.

Primary Responsibilities:

Product Management

• Coordinate and manage product samples, ensuring timely tracking, organization, and distribution
• Support seasonal sample workflows and cross-functional needs

Data Management & Systems (PLM / DeSL)

• Execute accurate and timely data entry across PLM and DeSL systems
• Maintain product information, including forecasted units and catalog data
• Support seasonal bulk uploads and system updates

Reporting & Analysis

• Pull and compile regular data reports to support merchandising decisions
• Assist in competitive analysis through tools such as VibeIQ
• Conduct competitor online research to inform pricing, assortment, and positioning

Operational Support

• Assist in the creation of packaging briefs
• Manage catalog manual entry processes during seasonal milestones
• Support merchandising team with ad hoc operational tasks as needed

Qualifications & Experiences:

• 1–3 years of experience in merchandising, buying, or a related function
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Comfortable working with data systems (PLM, ERP, or similar tools preferred)
• Proficient in Excel and data handlingAbility to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Interest in retail, product, and market trends
