Job summary

Logan Simpson has an immediate opening for a Temporary Archaeological Field Technician to work in Arizona, based out of our Flagstaff office.

The position pays hourly between $22 and $26, commensurate with experience and education. Benefits include paid sick leave, 8 paid holidays, eligibility for a healthcare program through ACRA, and a $150 field gear stipend for eligible temporary staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Anthropology or Archaeology or completion of an accredited field school.
• Experience in the U.S. Southwest.
• Experience conducting fieldwork in a CRM setting; ability to identify artifacts and features.
• Willingness to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and remote locations; camping may be required.
• Ability to walk up to 10 miles daily over steep terrain for extended periods.
• Willingness to work overnights and on weekends; open to working out-of-town.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

This position is paid on an hourly basis between $22 - $26 hour, depending on experience and education. Logan Simpson provides benefits for temporary staff members including paid sick leave, 8 paid holidays, eligibility for a healthcare program through ACRA (American Cultural Resources Association), and for eligible temporary staff members, the firm offers a $150 field gear stipend.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Participating in archaeological excavation, monitoring, and pedestrian survey projects as a crew member, under the supervision of a field director or crew lead throughout Arizona and adjacent states.

What You'll Bring:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology and/or completion of an accredited field school. Applicants without a degree or field school experience will be considered.
• Experience in the U.S. Southwest.
• Experience conducting fieldwork in a cultural resource management setting. Ability to identify archaeological artifacts and features.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and in remote locations (camping is a possibility).
