Job summary

The MSPCA-Angell in Massachusetts is seeking a compassionate Animal Welfare Specialist for a temporary full-time 40-hour per week role. You will split time between direct care of animals at the adoption center and assisting the public with adoptions and surrenders.

You will be the first point of contact for pet families, delivering empathetic client service in a fast-paced setting. Prior animal experience is a plus, and Spanish proficiency is strongly encouraged to assist our diverse community.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year in a client care or customer service role.
• Spanish language proficiency encouraged.
• Experience with animals is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Caring for animals at the adoption center with exercise, food, water, enrichment and medications.
• Cleaning adoption center rooms and cages.
• Participating in trainings and team discussions on animal behavior plans.
• Providing adoption counseling to match pets with families and surrender counseling when needed.
