University of Kansas GEAR UP program hires KU students to work as academic mentors in Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools. Mentors provide before, during, and after school support to program participants, helping youth reach their academic goals.
Mentors will attend to individual learning needs, review key concepts, and assess progress while maintaining patience and rapport with students. The role includes timesheet submission and regular communication with Site Coordinator.
