Job summary

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is seeking a Temple Facilities Assistant 2 in Gilbert, AZ. You will assist in operating and maintaining temple facilities, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, ensuring safe and compliant operations in a sacred environment.

Responsibilities include HVAC optimization, water treatment, kitchen and laundry system upkeep, and support for budgeting and FMAT projects.

Qualifications

• 2 years of technical training in a skilled trade plus 4 years of trade experience.
• 2 years of physical plant operation experience in electrical, electronics, plumbing, welding, carpentry, painting, construction, blueprint reading, mechanics, and floor coverings.
• Shop organization and inventory management skills.
• Basic computer skills and licenses as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain computerized heating and air conditioning equipment for maximum efficiency.
• Maintain and treat water for boilers, culinary water systems, cooling towers; conduct water tests.
• Service and repair laundry equipment and all kitchen systems.
• Maintain baptismal font filtering and water purification; manage chemical levels as per local codes.
• Maintain electrical systems including high voltage wiring, motor controls, and lighting.
• Service and adjust temple recording, projection, sound, and communication systems.
• Modify temple mechanical or electrical systems as needed.
• Participate in yearly facilities budget process, time-card submission, and FMAT project administration.
