Job summary

Darnel Group is seeking a Pelletizer/Grinder Operator to grind scrap from the extrusion process and monitor pelletizing operations, producing a variety of pellets per order specifications. The role includes reporting machinery issues to supervisors and ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

The position starts temporary and converts to a regular employee after 90 days, contingent on onboarding success.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic math in English.
Proficient in using measurement tools.
Forklift certification required.
Must be available to work 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

Set up and start up grinders or pelletizers; load material and adjust as needed.
Support extrusion operations including stringing the line, doffing rolls, and grinding scrap.
Record and monitor scrap grinding operations and line settings to react quickly.
Ensure product quality using calipers, scales, micrometers, or other measurement devices.
Prepare and complete daily documentation including logs and data entry.
Identify and report machinery issues to supervision and maintenance.
Maintain cleanliness of machines, floors, and waste in the area.
Operate forklift to move, stage, and prepare materials for shifts.
Use PeopleSoft to report production, generate labels, and record consumption.
