Job summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Shipping Assistant for a hospitality snack supplier in Buffalo, NY. The role is temp-to-hire with excellent benefits once hired on. Payrate is $20.00/hr, with hours Monday-Thursday 9:00am-5:30pm and Friday 9:30am-3:30pm, some flexibility.

Responsibilities include picking and packing orders, preparing shipments for carriers, maintaining a clean staging area, verifying orders, and assisting with inventory counts. Forklift experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years warehouse or shipping experience
• Forklift and pallet jack is a plus
• Competent computer skills and ability to learn new programs
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Ability to lift and manipulate objects up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Pick and pack orders for shipment
• Assemble and prepare shipping boxes and other packaging materials
• Pack shipment orders using appropriate packaging
• Prepare shipments for carriers such as UPS, FedEx and LTL freight
• Assist with processing of parcel and pallet shipments
• Maintain a safe staging area - keeping area clean of debris
• Verify orders and packaging to ensure accuracy
• Assist with inventory counts
• Receive inventory to ensure accuracy, lot numbers, and other necessary information
• Utilize internal computer programs as needed
