Job summary

SIMCO Electronics is seeking a temporary Shipping & Receiving associate in Allentown, PA. You will receive and ship equipment, properly package items, and ensure accurate documentation and inventory control.

The position emphasizes handling will call, COD, and shipments with attention to detail and safety procedures. Responsibilities include updating the computer system, preparing documentation for multiple departments, and maintaining organized records.

Qualifications

• Must operate a PC, keyboard, and pointing device.
• Knowledgeable of incoming and final inspection practices.
• Knowledgeable of standard material handling and packaging practices.
• Skilled in foam-in-place packaging equipment.
• Experience in shipping and receiving.
• Knowledge of freight companies.
• Familiar with FedEx, UPS, Airborne Express shipping equipment and internet-based tracking systems.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Organize equipment for will call, COD, and shipment.
• Update computer system with status of will call, COD, and shipped items.
• Process documentation for accounting, purchasing, and customer service.
• Package equipment for transport to customers/vendors to arrive undamaged.
• Reject damaged goods and coordinate with shipper on damages.
• Assemble and ship outgoing merchandise.
• Print daily shipment reports from FedEx and UPS systems.
• Receive materials and distribute to appropriate areas.
• Maintain organized transfer, airway bill, and shipping records.
• Update freight charges and airway bill numbers.
