The Cherokee Mental Health Institute (CMHI), part of the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services, seeks a Temporary Resident Treatment Technician - Security to join the team in Cherokee. The position assists ward staff with safety and security and may mentor Resident Treatment Worker staff under RN/Charge Nurse guidance.

This temporary role is limited to 780 hours per fiscal year and requires completion of a background check.

Qualifications

• Preference will be given to candidates with at least 18 months of relevant experience.
• Applicants must pass a background check to be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and security on wards and mentor RTW staff as delegated by the Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse.
• Respond to emergency codes and promote a safe environment at the Cherokee Mental Health Institute.
• Lead and train Resident Treatment Worker staff in responding to emergencies.
