Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must possess a current RN license or be eligible to practice per state requirements.
• One year of nursing experience; psychiatric/behavioral health experience a plus.
• CPR, de-escalation and restraint certification required (training provided).
• First aid may be required depending on state/facility guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and families about health conditions.
• Administer medications per orders and document controlled substances accurately.
• Complete admission and discharge processing and coordinate unit activities.
• Communicate professionally with patients, families, visitors and staff.
