Job description

The Registered Nurse (RN) functions primarily in direct patient care and demonstrates competent clinical practice. This position involves triaging patients, obtaining patient history and vital signs, and assessing patients. The RN acts independently to initiate immediate care in the absence of a physician in life-threatening situations. Provides care for both acutely ill and non-acute patients, performing multiple procedures utilizing both complex and simple nursing skills, and assists physicians with their procedures. The RN provides physical and psychological comfort to patients, families, and visitors, and offers discharge and follow-up instructions. Responds to ambulance radios, giving appropriate prehospital care orders independently. Works with sophisticated equipment and manages various patient types in a frequently stressful environment.

Responsibilities

1. Performs nursing assessments, intervenes appropriately and promptly, and participates in care planning.
2. Regularly assesses patient needs and provides skilled nursing services as prescribed by the physician's authorized plan of care and accepted standards of nursing practice.
3. Processes physician/provider orders accurately, completely, and timely; follows up on medication changes and order clarifications.
4. Evaluates the effectiveness of treatment plans and suggests or facilitates changes to improve patient care.
5. Participates actively in updating and revising treatment plans collaboratively with team members, utilizing current information.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA) certifications required.
• NRP certification required.
• TNCC certification required.
• Travel experience highly preferred.
• All scheduling requests must be made at the time of submission; requests after offer may lead to rescinded offers.
