Position Summary

PLEASE NOTE: This position is for the UNM-Gallup Branch, located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, NM

The Nursing Program at UNMG anticipates hiring Adjunct Faculty to teach in the Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and/or Summer 2027 semesters in the Nursing Program/Nursing and HumanServices (NHS) Division to teach the Lower Division Nursing Courses (1000-2000 Level), nursing clinicals, and/or nursing program pre-requisites.

The University of New Mexico established branch colleges to provide the highest quality of education for students pursuing post-secondary education at different locations throughout the state. The Nursing and Human Services (NHS) Division at UNM Gallup Branch is seeking qualified temporary part time faculty members to teach lower division classes in various courses or topics as specified above. UNM-Gallup instructors are responsible for all aspects of any class they are teaching including but not limited to meeting with the class during assigned times, content delivery, assignment development, grading assignments, reporting of grades, and assessment of student learning as outlined by the department chair.

Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined by departmental needs, student enrollment levels, current course offering matrix, and demand driven by graduation requirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Candidates selected for these positions will report to the NHS Division Chair.

Wages

Adjunct Faculty are currently compensated on the basis of their credentials and credit hour course loads.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Unrestricted, active New Mexico RN license or multistate RN compact license

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in nursing
• Two years of clinical nursing experience
• A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities
