Job summary

SPX is seeking an Operations Warehouse Admin to support the inventory control team by documenting and updating SOPs and maintaining accurate inventory records, including obsolescence management. This role involves participation in process-improvement activities and coordination across two SPX warehouse locations.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of MRP systems, production control, and lean manufacturing practices, with the ability to lift up to 25 lbs and operate in a manufacturing

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of MRP systems and production/inventory control.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and 5S.
  • Ability to use PPE in production areas and perform physical tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Support Supply Chain and Warehouse teams in process-improvement activities (SOP documentation/updating, part usage analysis, warehouse design and layout, kitting).
  • Learn and perform testing to enhance system usage and material movement across two warehouse locations.
  • Assist in obsolescence review and inventory removal; update systems accordingly.
  • Lead additional projects as assigned.

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As an Operations Warehouse Admin, you will assist the inventory control team in documenting / updating / creating SOPs by functional areas within the warehouse. You will be involved in updating inventory part records in regard to obsolescence.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

Projects & Continuous Improvement
  • Provide support to Supply Chain and Warehouse teams in the execution of technical activities associated with process improvements, such as:
      • SOP documentation / updating
      • Part usage analysis
      • Warehouse design and layout
      • Kitting of parts for manufacturing and assembly
  • Learn and perform testing to enhance system usage and support execution of material movement throughout two warehouse locations
  • Assist in obsolescence review / removal from inventory and system update
  • Lead other projects as assigned

Required Experience and Education
  • Knowledge of MRP systems, production control and inventory control.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Familiarity with fundamental warehouse procedures
  • Lean manufacturing experience, including 5S.
  • Manufacturing Environment frequently requires use of foot and eye protection when in production areas
  • Ability to climb, stoop, crouch and crawl
  • Ability to lift/move up to 25lbs occasionally
