Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Ability to read specimen labels accurately and work with numbers to prevent mislabeling.
• Must be organized, able to prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective oral and written communication; good human relations skills.
• Must be able to work independently and in a team; accommodate shifting schedules.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process biological specimens (blood, urine); verify identification and label accuracy.
• Perform clerical tasks, pre-analytic processing, inventory management, filing, stocking, receiving shipments, and cleaning.
• Work with laboratory information systems daily.
