Job summary

Rutgers University, The State University of New Jersey, seeks a Temporary Research Assistant in the Department of Center for Immunity and Inflammation within NJMS. The position is part-time and on-site in Newark, 30 hours per week for six months, with an hourly appointment.

Under supervision, you will perform and assist with laboratory procedures, purifications, assays and cell culture, support experiments and maintain lab facilities.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in a scientific/technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.
• Experience with laboratory procedures and analyses is preferred.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with multiple individuals on project activities.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, provides laboratory and technical support involving research methods and techniques.
• Performs multistage purifications, other assays and tests; propagates specimens and cell cultures.
• Communicates and collaborates with numerous individuals on project facets.
• Assists with experimentation and research activities.
• Assists with the maintenance of laboratory facilities, equipment, and instruments.
