Job Summary

Serves as the link between the community school and the school community and as a point of contact for school administrators, staff, parents, and community school program managers. • Supports students and families within the Community School catchment area.

• Ensures accurate and confidential student records.
• Acts as a liaison between the school and a community of diverse families during school and community events and parent/guardian meetings.
• Participates in community and school activities that support the school’s initiatives and programs.
• Monitors progress of all school–community related activities and keeps records of the results of such events.
• Facilitates activities and events that promote the development of stronger staff relationships with parents/guardians, families, and the community.
• Establishes effective and cooperative working relationships with professional and support staff.
• Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalency Certificate preferred.

Experience

• One (1) year of group facilitation and/or supervision experience preferred.
• One (1) year of experience in human development, community outreach, child psychology, counseling, special education or related fields preferred.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to follow assignment, exercise initiative and good judgment in timely execution of assigned responsibilities.

• Ability to employ a variety of teaching styles to respond to the needs of diverse learners.
• Demonstrates ability to work effectively and engage diverse parents/guardians with varied communication styles, levels of skill and experience in order to support their child’s educational experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency with business technology applications.

Licenses and Certifications

• Employee must retain active licenses, certifications, and enrollment as a condition of employment.
