Department Information

Within the Center for Student Engagement, The Fraternity and Sorority Life department at Georgia Tech supports over 50 chapters and roughly 25% of the student body through leadership development, administrative advising, and campus advocacy.


Job Summary

Provide office support services within a campus unit to include organizing and preparing correspondence, reports and other documentation; scheduling meetings and events; file maintenance, and related administrative activities; and assisting customers with their service needs. Specific duties will be determined based on assignment and unit needs. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: unit management and staff, vendors and office visitors. Responsibilities


  • Establish and build working relationships with and between volunteers, alumni, Greek headquarters organizations and campus community

  • Advise one or more of the Greek governing councils (Collegiate Panhellenic Council, the Interfraternity Council, the Multicultural Greek
    Council, and the National Pan-Hellenic Council)

  • Manage facilities related services associated with chapters, including house maintenance, inspections, waste management, etc.

  • Provide advice and support to programs and practices that promote safe and healthy lifestyles for members of Greek letter organizations and the larger campus community

  • Promote effective Greek chapter leadership through oversight of multiple components of the Greek Advance program

  • Respond to crisis and/or emergencies within the Greek community as needed
    Report on allegations of infractions of the Code of Conduct

  • Act on behalf of the Director upon their absence


Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma


Other Required Qualifications

Ability to work outside of typical business hours as needed, potentially including but not limited to evenings, weekends, and holidays

Up to two years of job related experience

Proposed Salary

Salary will be $29 an hour

SKILLS

This job requires skills in general office administration to include document preparation and processing, records management, event planning and organization, spoken/written communications and interpersonal skills, and the ability to multi-task. Skill in basic office related computer applications is required.



  • Knowledge of Greek community organization, living and activities and related Institute policy and rules.

  • Skill in program management, communications, customer service and relationship building.
