Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a qualified Teacher to manage instruction and pupil progress within assigned classes. You will prepare lesson plans, implement effective teaching strategies, and maintain accurate records in alignment with CPS policies.

You will communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress, attendance, and conduct, and participate in professional staff meetings and school activities as required.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of all student teaching requirements and coursework to obtain the Illinois teaching certificate(s).
• Ability to apply contemporary teaching methods and maintain accurate student records.
• Knowledge of state certification requirements and classroom management techniques.

Responsibilities

• Plan instruction and prepare lesson plans aligned with instructional objectives.
• Evaluate pupil progress and maintain accurate records of achievements.
• Establish and maintain fair classroom rules and positive student conduct.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about academic progress and attendance.
• Participate in in-service meetings and school activities as required.
