Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a qualified Teacher to provide instruction, progress tracking, and discipline for students in assigned classes. The role requires lesson planning, implementation of current teaching methods, and collaboration with families within CPS policies.

Successful completion of student teaching and ISBE teaching certification is required. The candidate will work under a principal and participate in ongoing professional development and school activities.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of student teaching and coursework to obtain Illinois teaching certificate.
• Must possess ISBE teaching license: PEL or ELS.
• Knowledge of subject matter and teaching methods; classroom and behavior management.
• Ability to modify instruction and communicate with parents and guardians.

Responsibilities

• Plan lessons and maintain records; assess pupil progress.
• Apply teaching methods; use diverse instructional materials.
• Communicate with parents and guardians; coordinate conferences.
• Participate in in-service and professional meetings.
• Coordinate field trips and after-school activities.
