Job summary

People's Credit Union in Middletown, RI seeks an entry level Teller to deliver extraordinary member experience through accurate transactions and daily balancing. You will balance cash and processed transactions, while cross-selling credit union products and guiding members to the right departments.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months of cash handling experience. Training is provided; strong communication and math skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • At least 6 months of cash handling experience.
  • Satisfactory completion of teller training.
  • Good oral communication skills.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment (i.e. calculator).
  • Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical sequence.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine teller transactions accurately and courteously.
  • Balances processed transactions daily.
  • Cross sells Credit Union products and directs members to appropriate departments.
  • Attends required training sessions as directed by supervisor and policy.
  • Adheres to Credit Union core values and customer service standards.
  • Performs duties in compliance with policies and regulations.

Teller

(Entry Level)

Position Summary:

This position provides extraordinary member experience by performing standard teller transactions and balances processed transactions on a daily basis.

Essential Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Performs accurately, routine transactions as it relates to Credit Union products and services in a professional and courteous manner
  • Balances processed transactions on a daily basis
  • Cross sells all Credit Union products and services directing members to the appropriate departments
  • Attends training sessions and seminars as requested by supervisor and mandated by the Credit Union
  • Adheres to and demonstrates the behaviors of the Credit Union’s core values; actively works to enhance the member experience throughout the Credit Union
  • Performs all duties in line with all Credit Union policies and all state and federal regulations
  • Other duties as requested

ADA Requirements:
Physical Requirements:
  • Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and regularly lifting cash box of up to 10 lbs. and coin bags up to 30 lbs. on occasion.
  • Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary.
  • Must be able to work additional hours whenever required or requested by management.
  • Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
  • Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team.
  • Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions.
