Job Function / Summary

A Teller at Hancock Whitney is primarily focused on creating 5-star client interactions. These excellent service experiences are centered around accurate cash handling, speed of service, superior problem resolution, risk mitigation through fraud detection, and personalized value-added client discussions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Build, maintain, and grow client relationships through quality, personalized interactions based on 5-star service standards.
  • Handle client transactional needs such as deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, credit card advances, money orders, and other negotiable items.
  • Assist clients with service requests like account maintenance and fee inquiries.
  • Maintain knowledge of products, services, and processes offered.
  • Achieve outbound call targets to educate clients on digital solutions and financial needs.
  • Educate clients on digital banking options such as mobile, online, and ATM services.
  • Refer clients to internal partners as needs are identified.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including vault management and balancing cash drawers.
  • Manage operational loss prevention measures.
  • Utilize equipment accurately and remain knowledgeable about its functionality.
  • Maintain professionalism in demeanor, dress, and station cleanliness.
  • Mentor fellow associates, providing guidance and coaching.
  • Engage with clients in the lobby, greeting and directing traffic.
  • Perform client research as needed.
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Comply with all applicable banking laws and regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 6 months of cash handling and customer service experience.
  • Previous sales and referral experience preferred.
Essential Mental & Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel if needed.
  • Work under stress and meet deadlines.
  • Operate related equipment.
  • Read and interpret documents.
  • Lift/move/carry approximately 30 pounds, with accommodations if necessary.
