BASIC FUNCTION

Tellers deliver extraordinary service while accurately and efficiently processing a variety of cash and inquiry transactions for Members, adhering to policies and procedures. They proactively suggest products and services to help Members manage their financial needs and provide information about the Credit Union, its mission, and its offerings.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES
  1. Provide exceptional member service by being knowledgeable, engaging, and making Members feel valued, while consistently applying service standards. Process transactions such as check cashing, deposits, payments, withdrawals, and inquiries.
  2. Actively listen to understand and address Members' questions and concerns. Offer guidance on products and services, and make qualified referrals that benefit Members.
  3. Follow all policies, procedures, and risk mitigation activities, including security, member identification, and fraud prevention.
  4. Prepare and verify official checks and money orders.
  5. Balance the cash drawer during and at the end of each shift.
  6. Perform miscellaneous duties such as end-of-day activities, filing, answering phones, and maintaining supplies.
CRITICAL RESULTS
  1. Provide Members with an extraordinary service experience, building trust and confidence.
  2. Operate within acceptable balancing and quality parameters, maintaining high service levels.
  3. Proactively recommend products/services and ensure Members receive accurate information.
  4. Complete activities accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with policies and controls.
  5. Mitigate losses and errors by adhering to policies; manager approval required for exceptions.
  6. Work according to schedules and department guidelines; may provide coverage at other branches if needed.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to learn and apply software applications.
  • Accurate keyboarding skills.
  • Experience in retail service, cash handling, and member service preferred.
  • Physical requirements include standing, handling, reaching, talking, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Core competencies include Member Focus, Dependability, and Integrity/Ethics.
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in various situations.
Work Environment

The environment is moderate noise; reasonable accommodations are available for disabilities. Employees may occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
