Role: Serves as the face of the credit union, providing exceptional service to members by processing transactions, answering questions, and supporting their financial needs.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Receives, evaluates, and processes basic financial transactions, including but not limited to cash and negotiable instrument deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments; processes cashier checks, transfers, and cash advances on credit cards, all while ensuring compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, and Customer Identification Program.
  • Post transactions to member accounts and maintain member records in accordance with all established credit union procedures and guidelines.
  • Greets and welcomes members and potential members in a courteous, professional and timely manner providing routine information and meeting their needs accurately and confidentially.
  • Promotes, explains, and cross-sells credit union products and services, anticipating the needs of our members and directing them to the appropriate services.
  • Balances cash drawer daily, researches and resolves discrepancies, and reports any discrepancies to the Head Teller.
  • Assists with reconciling daily transactions, ensuring cash, checks, vouchers, and recyclers match system records.
  • Assists with processing mail, night drop, and ATM deposits daily.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements
  • Provide friendly, professional, personal service to all members and employees in a timely manner.
  • Balance your drawer daily and accurately post transactions with minimal errors.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to identify appropriate products and services for the betterment of the member.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all credit union products and services handled by Tellers.
  • Maintain a professional work environment and businesslike appearance.
Knowledge and Skills

Experience - One month to twelve months of similar or related experience. 6 months of cash handling preferred.

Education – A high school education or GED.

Interpersonal Skills - Work involves contact with persons beyond immediate associates regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information, which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors), requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.

Other Skills - Intermediate PC knowledge with basic Microsoft Office skills. Detail-oriented and able to multitask. Good judgement in order to evaluate identities, accounts, checks and currency. Excellent communication skills with a pleasant tone. Ability to work in a team environment.

Physical Requirements – Must be able to move around the branch and must be able to sit and stand for an extended period of time. Light lifting is required.
