Job summary

Mid America Bank is seeking a Teller to accurately process customers’ routine transactions in a friendly, professional manner and to provide information about accounts and bank products and services. The Teller will handle cash deposits and withdrawals, issue cashier’s checks, and assist customers with safe deposit access.

This role requires excellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including Saturday rotations, with strong growth

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred, not required; may be at least 16 years of age.
• Previous cash-handling or customer service experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Commitment to confidentiality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Safely and accurately process customers’ routine transactions such as cashing checks, depositing money, issuing withdrawals, and collecting loan payments.
• Issue negotiable items such as cashier’s checks.
• Provide customers access to their safe deposit box.
• Complete customers’ special requests as needed.
• Maintain supply of cash and currency in personal cash drawer. Count personal cash drawer at the end of each shift to make sure it balances.
• Reconcile personal cash drawer in the event drawer does not balance.
• Interact with customers in person, on telephone, or through other electronic communications in a friendly, helpful, and patient manner.
• Answer customers’ basic inquiries about their accounts.
• Identify customer needs through active listening and provide tailored solutions to enhance satisfaction and build loyalty.
• Comply with bank operations and security procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of customer and bank operations information.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.

Job Overview
