River Bank is seeking a Teller II to provide exceptional service to customers through accurate teller transactions and relationship-building. This role offers hands-on learning in opening new accounts and supporting Universal Bankers as needed.

The Teller II position emphasizes cash handling, compliance, and customer communications. You will balance drawers, support vault operations, and contribute to a welcoming lobby environment in a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience handling cash and performing transactions with accuracy.
• Customer service and sales experience a plus; ability to explain bank products.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the secondary point of contact for new accounts and assist independently.
• Mentor frontline teller staff and provide support as needed.
• Process transactions: cash checks, deposits, withdrawals, transfers, payments, and more.
• Ensure proper identification, disclosures, and compliance with policies.
• Balance cash drawer daily and handle vault transactions as rotation requires.
• Assist customers with rates, service charges, and account history inquiries.

Position Summary:

The Teller II position is responsible for providing service to bank customers by conducting appropriate transactions and meeting the needs of customers. It'll have the opportunity for hands-on learning of opening new accounts and providing coverage to our Universal Bankers as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Secondary point of contact for New Accounts, working independently.
• Acts as a mentor and provides support and additional resources to the frontline Teller staff.
• Provide accurate and timely service for customers, which includes, but is not limited to, cashing checks and savings bonds, cash advances, accepting deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, dispensing monetary instruments, wire transfers, loan and safe deposit box payments, and completing check orders.
• Stay compliant with check holds, processing stop payments and EFT disputes, closing accounts, ensuring endorsements are verified and proper identification is obtained.
• Balance cash drawer daily, including periodic batching of checks and end of day processing.
• Balance and post vault transactions in accordance with all Vault Teller/Dual Control procedures during assigned rotation.
• Assist customers inquiring about interest rates, service charges, and account histories while complying with disclosure requirements, regulations and customer confidentially and privacy policies.
• Recognize and report any fraudulent or suspicious activity to your supervisor.
• Light cleaning duties as needed to maintain appearance of lobby and teller line.
• Assist with other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor.

Schedule

Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm + rotational Saturdays 8am-noon.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Customer Service and/or Sales experience.
• Cash handling experience.
• Basic knowledge of bank products.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to travel to other River Bank locations to sub when needed.
• Ability to work well under pressure, sometimes in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
