Job Description

The Teller I operates in a TD Store, delivering exceptional customer service while processing banking transactions accurately and efficiently. The role involves educating customers on TD’s products and services or referring them to specialists for tailored solutions.

Depth & Scope

  • Deliver legendary customer experiences, embodying TD's brand promise
  • Handle customer transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and safe deposit box payments
  • Verify currency, balance cash drawers, and process night deposits accurately
  • Respond to customer inquiries, resolving issues or escalating as needed
  • Manage lobby flow, greet customers warmly, and guide them appropriately
  • Understand customer preferences and educate on digital banking options
  • Conduct needs-based conversations, offering financial and digital solutions or referring to specialists
  • Make sound decisions, resolve problems promptly, and escalate complex issues
  • Ensure compliance with operational policies and regulations like BSA and Patriot Act
  • Verify customer identities following authentication procedures
  • Balance cash drawers, ATMs, and other cash handling devices
  • Maintain security and confidentiality of customer information
  • Adhere to security protocols and prevent fraud
  • Complete required training by set deadlines
Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred: 6 months related experience or equivalent (volunteering, education, military)
  • Availability to work during operating hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Customer service skills preferred
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Excellent communication skills
Physical Requirements

  • Occasional travel and physical activity, including standing, walking, and lifting under 25 lbs.
