Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior cash handling or customer service experience preferred.

• Familiarity with banking programs and systems is a plus.
• Adherence to cash handling policies and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, courteous teller services to members with accurate cash handling.
• Cross-sell other member services and introduce basic credit union products.
• Process mail deposits and withdrawals.
• Balance cash drawer daily and assist with ATM balancing if needed.
• May train to perform open/close duties with on-site supervision.
• May train to verify checks for other tellers and handling overrides.
• May be cross-trained to assist in other branch positions.
• Attend trainings at headquarters or off-site as required.
• Represent the credit union in a positive and professional manner.

NATURE AND SCOPE

Performs transactional duties to serve members by receiving or paying out funds with high accuracy. Provides cash receipt and payment services in accordance with credit union policies and procedures. Presents and explains a basic number of credit union products and services tomembers. Represents the credit union in a positive and professional manner.

REQUIREMENTS

1. 1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. 2. Previous work experience with cash handling or customer service preferred.
3. 3. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills,organizational skills and the ability to work independently and within deadlines.
4. 4. Must have experience or be able to gain proficiency in all programs and systems usedfor this job.
5. 5. Must develop a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as theyrelate to this position. Must comply with all company policies and procedures and alljob-related State and federal laws and regulations.
6. 6. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. 1. Provides friendly, courteous, and expedient teller and other related services tomembers resulting in a balanced cash drawer daily.
2. 2. Cross-sells other member services.

4. 4. May assist in balancing the ATM (if not performed by an outside source).
5. 5. May train to perform open/closing duties (with manager on site).
6. 6. May train to verify checks for other tellers.

9. 9. May be required to attend training at headquarters or an off-site location.
