PRIMARY PURPOSE

To represent Sugar River Bank by projecting a professional image thru actions and appearance. To perform a variety of teller functions in support of the overall policies and procedures of the Retail Department / Branches. To process the customers transactions with accuracy and efficiency in a confidential manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide exceptional service to our customers by adhering to all service standards. Look for and capitalize on opportunities to continually expand the relationship with each and every customer.
  • Provide outstanding internal service and be a valued, supportive team member.
  • To adhere to all policies and procedures.
  • To understand and adhere to all retail compliance regulations.
  • EQUIPMENT USAGE:
  • To have knowledge of how to use the following equipment: Computer terminals, calculators, printers, official check printers, copiers, passbook printers, typewriters, coin/currency machines, telephone, credit card- cash advance terminals and other equipment as need be.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:
  • To acknowledge and greet each customer in a professional and pleasant manner as they enter and exit the Bank.
  • Use the customers name during the transaction process.
  • Use listening skills to determine the needs of the customer.
  • Process all transactions with accuracy and efficiency. a. All cash, coming into or going out of the teller drawer must be verified properly. Maintain cash drawer limits. b. Accurately complete and process the appropriate tickets for each transaction.
  • Complete transactions in a professional manner i.e.: Thank you, come again, and ask is there anything else we can help you with.
  • Keep work area orderly, neat and clean for a professional and confident image to our customers.
  • Balance cash drawer daily.
  • Process night deposit bags/envelopes and incoming mail transactions daily.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls within three rings in a professional and pleasant manner: a. Follow Bank policies on customer inquiries. b. Transfer to appropriate department/person when necessary. c. Take name and phone number if unable to immediately assist the customer for follow-up purposes.
  • Have the ability to comprehend written and oral communications.
  • Be knowledgeable of Retail Regulations and know when to ask for assistance.
  • Work with other departments and co-workers in a supportive manner to ensure customers requests are handled in a timely, efficient and professional manner.
  • Complete all Bankers Edge courses in a timely manner as required.
  • Confidentiality will be adhered to at all times.

  • SECONDARY DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:(Under the direction of the Teller Supervisor)
  • Assist in the opening and closing procedures of the teller area and/or branch location.
  • Collect night deposit bags/envelopes, recording our receipt of the items.
  • Process cash advance requests.
  • Assist in the processing of cash advance settlements daily.
  • Give customers a receipt to acknowledge that a future transaction is to be completed.
  • Forward to Loan Operations escrow advances to be processed.
  • Inform Teller Supervisor or co-worker of needed supplies.
  • Assists with any department filing.
  • Assists in department projects.
  • Assists other departments with projects.
  • Attend department meetings and when requested, record minutes for hand-out.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, secure environment for customers and co-workers keeping a professional image.
  • Perform light maintenance such as dusting, vacuuming, cleaning counter-tops, emptying waste baskets. a. In season: i. Salt, sand and shovel walkways when needed.ii. Holiday decorating and cleanup.
  • Assist in maintaining cash supply and balancing ATM daily.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

After the initial ninety (90) day probationary period, which includes the training sessions, an individual should be able to safely and proficiently perform the essential functions of the Teller I position with or without reasonable assistance and with or without mechanical devices.
