Job description

Northwest Tellers are important members of our retail network team because they often have the most interaction with our customers. They provide an excellent customer service experience by welcoming customers, efficiently processing transactions, resolving problems, providing educational service, and uncovering financial needs for referral to the appropriate line of business.

Essential Functions
  1. Achieve financial wellness activity goals, such as identifying referral opportunities and contributing to the overall office's sales performance goals.
  2. Assist customers and visitors with questions, problem resolution, and other needs. Proactively engage with customers to understand needs and inform them of product/service features and benefits. Refer customers to appropriate team members for complex requests or products/services.
  3. Actively engage with and greet customers, taking ownership to resolve any customer issues or concerns.
  4. Balance teller drawer daily and participate in office meetings, operations meetings, and dual control balancing of vault, ATM, and other devices as needed.
  5. Deliver the North(west) star experience and champion our customer's financial wellness through exceptional customer service in person, over the phone, and via email.
  6. Deliver our 5 Culture Promises with excellence.
  7. Complete assigned educational training and self-educate using bank-designed programs and applications.
  8. Maintain general knowledge of all office systems and software, perform maintenance, and possess in-depth knowledge of bank products, services, and digital offerings.
  9. Adhere to all security and dual control processes.
  10. Participate in branch opening and closing tasks as needed.
  11. Protect the bank from unnecessary risk by following compliance, risk, and operational procedures.
  12. Work as a team with co-workers to complete daily tasks, demonstrating respect and professionalism, being prompt, and supporting management with special requests.
  13. Work evening hours and weekends as scheduled or necessary.
  14. Ensure compliance with Northwest policies, procedures, and federal/state regulations.
  15. Navigate Microsoft Office and department-specific applications to maximize efficiency.
  16. Work collaboratively as part of a team.
  17. Operate on-site equipment as required.

  • Establish effective working relationships and participate in problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Communicate ideas and information clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Actively listen to understand and facilitate open exchange of information.
  • Set goals, develop tracking systems, and utilize resources effectively.
  • Make sound decisions based on perceptive and analytical skills, practicing good judgment in complex situations.
  • Have knowledge of computers and teller systems.

Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Work Experience
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Cash handling experience preferred.
