Job summary

Flagstar in Brooklyn, NY seeks a Teller Float to provide excellent customer service and process routine financial transactions daily. Will travel to Financial Centers to support teller units as needed.

Responsibilities include greeting clients, handling deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and currency exchanges, while maintaining cash drawers and adhering to bank policies. Training and cross-functional support are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 1 year teller experience.
• Strong math and numerical accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Greet and serve clients in a friendly manner; answer phones and provide account information.
• Process client transactions (cash/Check deposits, withdrawals, payments, transfers, checks, money orders) accurately.
• Maintain adequate cash supply and adhere to drawer limits.
• Balance cash on hand and verify totals against records.
• Assist with ATM deposits/settlements and Night Depository deposits.
• Sell and purchase foreign currency as needed.
• Complete ongoing trainings (Compliance, HR).
• Support Private Client Groups as required.

Job Summary

Teller provides excellent service to clients by assisting them with processing routine financial transactions on a day-to-day basis in accordance with all Bank policy and procedures. Will travel to Financial Centers and lend support to the teller units as needed.

Job Responsibilities

• Greet and service clients in a friendly and courteous manner. Answer phones. Provide account information, answer client questions and direct clients appropriately for further assistance as needed.
• Process client transactions, including but not limited to, cash and check deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, loan payments, issue official checks and money orders, transfers, general ledger entries, completion of CTRs, etc. accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain an adequate cash supply at all times: buying from & selling to the vault as needed ensuring established drawer limits are not exceeded.
• Balance cash on hand, transactions processed and negotiable items daily and ensure that totals prove to the figures on record in the computer.
• May assist with retrieval and processing of ATM deposits and ATM Settlement.
• May assist with retrieval and processing of deposits made to Night Depository.
• May sell and purchase foreign currency.
• Complete ongoing training as required Compliance, HR, etc.
• Provide support for the Private Client Groups as needed.

ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
• Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Qualifications

• Education level required: High School / High School Equivalency (GED, HiSET, TASC) / Foreign Equivalent.

• Good mathematical aptitude to facilitate daily balancing
• Minimum 1-year previous teller experience (required)
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to enter numerical data on computer with speed and accuracy
• Able to respond promptly to client needs, follow through & resolve issues in a pleasant & helpful manner
