Teller Job Description

Provide the highest level of Service Excellence to businesses and individual customers, and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills. Promote and cross-sell bank products and services, and make quality refers to other bankers as appropriate. Manage a cash drawer/recycler and perform other teller functions as assigned. Ensure all activities are performed according to bank policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate cash drawer/recycler with high level or accuracy
• Process customer financial transactions including deposit and loan business
• Accepts checks for cashing or paying; verifies endorsement, validity, and funds
• Promote and cross-sell bank products and services, and make quality referrals to other bankers when appropriate
• Refers large or unusual transactions to a more experienced teller or banker
• Sells money orders, cashier’s checks, and processes cash advances
• Processes U.S. savings bonds for payment
• Answer phones, greet customers, and assist with directing lobby traffic as needed
• Perform ATM responsibilities as outlined by manager
• Ability to maintain established cash handling standards
• Consistently follows established bank policies and procedures and regulatory guidelines
• Demonstrates Service Excellence in all customer interactions
• Maintains work areas according to branch standards or other established security procedures
• All other duties as assigned
