Job summary

Security Service Federal Credit Union in Texas is seeking a Member Consultant I (Teller/Banker) to greet members and champion SSFCU products. You’ll promote checking and savings, loans, credit cards and insurance, while delivering excellent member experiences and meeting sales goals.

You will be cross-trained in teller and banker duties to provide universal service, with opportunities for learning and career growth within a member‑centric environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years in retail banking, cash handling, customer service and sales.
• Customer-centric attitude focused on delivering great experiences to members.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Willingness to travel to other branches for work or training.
• May be required to register as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) within 180 days if requested.
• If registered, must pass background checks against regulatory lists as required.

Most of our branch managers and assistant branch managers started in a Teller/Banker role!Member Consultant I: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two (2) years of retail banking, cash handling, customer service and sales, or comparable experience.A customer-centric attitude focused on delivering great experiences to our members while maintaining strict confidentiality. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a goal-driven mindset. Proficiency in computer software including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong attention to detail, strong organizational skills and the ability to focus in a fast-paced environment. Able to maintain a flexible work schedule during normal business hours--never work another Sunday! May be required to travel to and from other branch locations for work and/or training.At management discretion employee may be required to complete, within 180 days of request, federal registration as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) as required by the Secure and Fair Enforcement of Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (S.A.F.E. Act). If registered, must maintain active registration, and comply with all requirements of the S.A.F.E. Act, including but not limited to, providing their unique identifier, and ensuring the Registry is updated with significant changes (i.e., name changes and reportable changes to legal or regulatory actions) within 30 days and must update employment and personal information in the Registry as required. If required to register as an MLO, will successfully pass a background check against the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Excluded Parties List (EPL), the HUD Limited Denial of Participation List (LDP List), and the Federal Housing Finance Agency's (FHFA) Suspended Counterparty Program (SCP) list as required by secondary market investors. Must maintain ability to pass any subsequent background checks against these lists and comply with all their requirements.

As a Teller/Banker, you will often deliver the very first impression of the credit union to our members (credit union lingo for customers). You will become an expert and champion of Security Service products and services to help our members reach their financial goals. You will build and nurture long-lasting relationships by promoting our checking and savings accounts, loans, credit cards, and insurance services, to name a few. You will only offer products and services that meet our member's needs and contribute to their financial success. You will be a team player and support the credit union in becoming America's Best by meeting sales goals, proactively identifying cross-sell opportunities, and educating members on digital services available to them. You will provide "universal" service and will be cross-trained in both teller and banker functions to better serve our members.
