What You Will Do

As a Teller/Banker, you will often deliver the first impression of the credit union to our members (credit union terminology for customers). You will become an expert and advocate of Security Service products and services to help our members achieve their financial goals. You will build and nurture long-lasting relationships by promoting checking and savings accounts, loans, credit cards, and insurance services, among others. You will only offer products and services that meet our members' needs and contribute to their financial success. You will support the credit union in becoming America's Best by meeting sales goals, proactively identifying cross-sell opportunities, and educating members on digital services. You will provide 'universal' service, being cross-trained in both teller and banker functions to better serve our members, which also offers additional learning and growth opportunities. You will also complete other job-related duties to help drive our Vision, fulfill our Purpose, and uphold our Values.

Pay starting at $21.00/hr., based on relevant experience.

What We Require

We support career growth and development, with a defined career path for our member service roles. Most branch managers and assistant managers started as Teller/Bankers! Requirements include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of retail banking, cash handling, customer service, sales, or similar experience.
  • A customer-centric attitude focused on delivering excellent experiences while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a goal-driven mindset.
  • Proficiency in computer software including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to focus in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible work schedule during normal business hours; no Sundays required.
  • May need to travel to other branch locations for work or training.

Potentially, within 180 days, employee may be required to complete federal registration as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) and maintain active registration, including background checks as per federal requirements.

Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • A desire to learn and grow within the credit union.
  • Experience with banking or financial core systems and recommending products/services that meet customer needs.
  • Ability to ask high-impact questions to uncover unspoken needs, ensuring members are aware of available offerings to save time and money.
