Salary Range: $19.00 To $23.00 Hourly

OVERVIEW:

Understands and maintains the Bank’s standards for service, customer satisfaction and relationship building; exercising these principles with every customer, every transaction, and every time. On a daily basis, processes a wide variety of customer transactions, demonstrating accuracy and adherence to the Bank’s procedures, policies and banking regulatory requirements. Professional tellers are responsible for providing a positive customer experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Greet and assist customers and provide general banking services and information while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Bank’s products and services to confidently answer customer’s questions.
  • Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, treasurer’s checks, money orders, traveler’s checks and other customer transactions in a secure and confidential manner in compliance with Bank policy, practice and banking regulations.
  • Cash checks within established check cashing limits, follows check cashing policy and seeks supervisory approval when necessary.
  • Accurately and efficiently process transactions by examining checks and other negotiable instruments for proper endorsements, dates, makers, signers and identification.
  • Accurately complete cash settlement daily.
  • Participate in performing daily branch tasks, night deposit processing, loan product payments, deposit capture scanning, proofing and balancing work, and completion of CTR (Currency Transaction Reports) as required.
  • Balance each day’s transactions and verify cash against computer totals, in accordance with the Bank’s policies and procedures, and demonstrates the ability to review or research daily work for accuracy; identify and correct errors.
  • Report to an officer any cash transaction that the customer may have “taken back” or changed to avoid the CTR reporting.
  • Report to the Retail Manager any transactions that appear out of the normal pattern of business for a known or new customer.
  • Adhere to all teller and branch security procedures.
  • Ensure security and confidentiality of customer information.
  • Perform routine clerical and background duties as assigned or requested. May send out maturity notices, follow-up cards to customers regarding new and closed accounts, etc.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Represent the Bank in a professional, courteous manner to all customers, associates, vendors, and the public.
  • Provide information, assistance, error resolution and customer service to Bank customers in a professional manner and escalates to manager as appropriate.
  • Proactively engage customers to grow the relationship and deliver personalized service.
  • Recommend Bank products, participates in branch promotions and attends community events.
  • Maintain an organized and secure work station for day’s activities.
  • Bring all exceptions and questionable transactions to supervisor for approval.
  • Build, develop and maintain partnerships with teammates to enhance customer experience.
  • Adhere to policies, procedures and guidelines of the Bank.
  • May assist with on-the-job training of new employees.
  • Ensure that work area is clean, secure and well maintained.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.
