Hourly Wage Range: From $16.00 – $24.00 based on qualifications & experience

Role: To assist members with their financial transactions, including paying and receiving cash and other negotiable instruments. Respond to problems and identify products and services that best suit the member’s needs.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Receives and processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and transfers. Sells corporate checks. Updates member accounts as needed. Balances cash drawer and daily transactions. Cross-sells Credit Union products and services. Performs a variety of miscellaneous tasks including typing, filing, computer input, and answering telephone calls. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

• – Experience: No experience required; cash handling and customer service experience helpful and preferred.
• – Education: Must have earned a high school diploma or GED.
• – Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Superior communication skills are required. Tellers are in regular contact with others both inside and/or outside the organization. He/she must be able to discuss routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information. Confidentiality with member information is vital.
• – Other Skills: Ability to operate calculator and computer keyboard; attention to detail and accuracy in working with currency and coin.
