Job summary

First Bank is seeking a teller to provide superior customer service at our Mississippi branch. You will handle deposits and withdrawals, verify cash and IDs, and maintain accurate records while following bank policies.

You will build knowledge of products through training and promote services to customers. The role requires attention to privacy, accuracy, and teamwork within a busy teller line environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
  • Cash handling experience required or preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word/Excel and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality service to every customer with a welcoming demeanor.
  • Develop knowledge of bank products via training and resources.
  • Cross-share Bank products and refer customers to appropriate departments.
  • Assist with customer account inquiries (charges, balances, history).
  • Balance teller drawer daily and conduct end-of-day balancing.
  • Complete CTRs, SARs and MILs as required.
  • Refer customers to Head Teller or Branch Manager when needed.

Summary: Provide service to Bank customers by conducting transactions, assisting with inquiries, and resolving issues in a timely manner. In addition, through customer interactions, identify opportunities to cross-share Bank products and services with referrals to a platform employee or other Bank department.Duties and Responsibilities:Provide high quality service to every customer i.e. smile, greet, address by name, timely assistance, etc.Develop working knowledge of bank products/services via training, Bank website, intranet information, meetings, etc.Identify opportunities to cross-share Bank products/services and refer customers to a platform employee or appropriate Bank department.Assist with customer account inquiries i.e. service charges, balances, account history, etc.Refer customers to a platform employee for transactions or questions that cannot be addressed at the teller lineProtect customer privacy and maintain confidentialityAdhere to all Bank policies/proceduresReceive checking/savings deposits and withdrawals: verify cash, endorsements, identification, and issue receiptsDetermine proper funds availability for checks cashed or deposited based on Bank and regulatory requirementsComplete Regulation CC Holds, as neededRedeem U.S. Savings BondsIssue money orders, cashier’s checksAssist safe deposit box customersAccept loan payments: verify payment amount, ensure proper loan payment code, and issue receiptsBuy/sell cash from vault as necessary, ensuring teller drawer cash limits are not exceededBalance teller drawer daily, including locating cash discrepanciesPerform end of day balancing and Teller Capture balancingComplete Currency Transaction Reports (CTR), Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR), and Monetary Instrument Logs (MIL)Refer customers to the Head Teller or Branch Manager for issues that you cannot resolveBalance ATM and load cash into ATMEnsure teller station is properly supplied and neatMaintain security of teller station including keys, combos, cash drawers, and teller workPromote and maintain positive relations with all employees, contacts, customers, and potential customers.Represent the bank in business development efforts and civic and community functions.Secondary or Additional Job Duties:This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed.
