Indiana Members Credit Union is seeking a Teller to serve as the primary contact for members, handling deposits, withdrawals, payments and other transactions with accuracy and security.

You will balance cash drawers daily, process checks and payments, and assist with night and ATM deposits in a busy retail branch. The role requires strong English, excellent customer service, and strict confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous cash handling and customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process member transactions: deposits, withdrawals, payments, money orders and checks.
  • Access safe deposit boxes when applicable.
  • Balance cash drawer daily.
  • Help with night deposits and ATM deposits and end-of-day duties.
  • Open/close accounts and issue debit cards.
  • Communicate with back-office teams and handle member requests.
  • Assist with cross-selling of products.
  • Maintain cash handling security and compliance.
  • Assist with branch duties like stocking and cleaning.

Job description

As a Teller, you will serve as the primary point of contact for members at Indiana Members Credit Union, ensuring a positive and efficient banking experience. Your role is critical in processing a variety of financial transactions accurately and securely, including deposits, withdrawals, and payments. You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of cash handling procedures and adhering to regulatory compliance standards. Additionally, you will identify members’ needs and provide information about the credit union’s products and services, contributing to customer satisfaction and retention. Your attention to detail and excellent communication skills will help foster trust and build lasting relationships with members.

  • Process various member transactions – deposits, withdrawals, loans and credit card cash advances, various types of loan & credit card payments, money orders, cashier checks, corporate checks, crossing selling other products, update members accounts, handle members problems & complaints, wire transfers, complete payroll deduction forms, direct deposits forms
  • Access safe deposit boxes when applicable
  • Handle and maintain security of large amounts of cash
  • Communicate with all back-office departments for assistance and member requests
  • Open and close various types of accounts, certificates, etc.
  • Create/order ATM/Debit cards for members
  • Process stop payments, print statements and histories for members.
  • Remote Capture of checks
  • Balance cash drawer daily
  • Assist with night deposits and ATM deposits
  • Other duties in the branch may include counting cash delivery, balancing ATM, filing, keeping teller area and branch clean and organized, help with “end of day” duties, stocking lobby with supplies
  • Fluent in the English language
  • Basic computer and technology skills

  • Honest, accountable, maintains confidentiality
  • Skilled in use of core system, CRM and imaging once training is completed.
