Overview: Specializes in our branch customer experience through digital engagement, lobby management, transactional processing, and retail servicing interactions. Processes a variety of financial transactions accurately and efficiently.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Adhere to established customer service standards and provide a differentiated experience by understanding customer needs and delivering solutions in moments that matter most to them.
  2. Educate customers through shoulder-to-shoulder digital demonstrations; identify self-service opportunities that meet customer needs.
  3. Actively engage in lobby management, greet customers, and proactively address their immediate needs.
  4. Accurately balance and process customer transactions efficiently following bank policies.
  5. Take ownership of escalated account issues until resolution; log all customer complaints accurately.
  6. Transition sales opportunities and introduce customers to appropriate banking partners.
  7. Complete branch operational activities (e.g., cash ordering, vault, ATM, wire transfers).
  8. Process customer and account maintenance accurately.
  9. Complete AML/BSA/KYC activities.
  10. Adhere to compliance and operational risk controls as per standards and policies.
  11. Promote an environment of belonging and reflect the M&T Bank brand.
  12. Maintain internal control standards, including timely audit and regulator issue resolution.
  13. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities: Provide exceptional service, resolve routine problems promptly, and demonstrate empathy, customer-centricity, digital fluency, and risk awareness. Collaborate across departments to resolve operational issues and stay current on operational changes.

Managerial/Supervisory Responsibilities: Not applicable.

Education and Experience Required:

  • High school diploma or GED and at least 6 months of customer service experience, including data entry and cash handling.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service, organization, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency with internet and basic technology.

Preferred: Bilingual skills based on branch needs.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, use hands and fingers extensively, lift objects weighing 5-30 lbs, read fine print, and interact face-to-face with customers.

The pay range is $18.00 - $25.76 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
