Job summary

Commander, Navy Installations Command is seeking a nonmedical clinical counselor to provide services to individuals, couples, families, and groups, addressing military life stressors and family dynamics. The role includes risk triage, crisis intervention, and coordination with FFSC and other providers.

The position requires a master's degree in a clinical field, applicable state licensure, and at least 2 years of post-master supervision and experience with domestic abuse/sexual assault advocacy;

Qualifications

• State licensure or state certification to provide clinical services as an independent practitioner.
• Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work or Psychology from an accredited program.
• At least 2 years (including 2000+ hours) of post-master supervised clinical experience.
• Two years of experience assisting and providing advocacy to victims of domestic abuse or sexual assault.

Responsibilities

• Provide nonmedical clinical counseling to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Receive and assess referrals for individuals and families experiencing situational stressors.
• Develop short-term, solution-focused counseling treatment plans.
• Assess needs and triage risk; refer to appropriate behavioral health providers.
• Initiate and facilitate group treatment programs (e.g., marital groups, child/adolescent groups).
• Provide crisis intervention and conduct safety planning per best practices.
