Job summary

Veterans Health Administration in Tennessee is seeking a Primary Care Physician (Float) to manage a patient panel within the TVHS system. The role emphasizes comprehensive care, documentation, and coordination across clinicians in a federal healthcare network.

Qualifications

• Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic or osteopathic medicine.
• The degree must have been obtained from an institution whose accreditation was in place for the year in which the course of study was completed.
• For foreign medical graduates, confirmation must be made that the medical school meets eligibility requirements (ECFMG).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care for a panel of outpatients in the clinic setting.
• Evaluate and treat acute and chronic health problems.
• Perform histories and physical exams and document findings.
• Prescribe medications within approved privileges and order/tests.
• Mentor nurse practitioners/physician assistants and supervise residents as assigned.
