Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Physician (MD/DO) for Primary Care (PACT) to provide comprehensive patient care within the VA system. Qualifications

  • US citizenship required per VA policy
  • MD degree from a school approved by VA
  • Current full and unrestricted medical license in a US state/DC
  • Residency training approved by ACGME/AOA for board eligibility
  • Board certification preferred for faculty status
  • Option for residency/transition pathways with appropriate credentials

Responsibilities

  • Provide independent patient care for chronic and acute medical needs
  • Write orders for diagnostic testing and prescribe medications
  • Coordinate with specialty services and use EMR for patient care
  • Lead in PACT team-based care delivery and care coordination
  • Deliver tele-health services including VA Video Connect to home visits
  • Perform medication reconciliation and ensure patient safety
  • Manage preventive care and health risk assessments
  • Oversee compliance with care standards and documentation
