The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is seeking a highly capable communications professional to handle records keeping, data entry, and teletype inquiries in a fast-paced environment.
Ideal candidates will possess an Associates degree or 60 credit hours or pass the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test, with at least four years of related experience. PST certification is required, plus strong computer and time-management skills within FCIC/NCIC policies.

The term “experience,” refers to active full-time employment, either in the same position, or directly related to the position applied for. The experience must have occurred within the three (3) years prior to application with the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.
This is a highly technical position requiring extensive amounts of records keeping, logging, filing and typing. Good knowledge of the Policies and Procedures of the FCIC/NCIC/NLETS systems and a good working knowledge of the overall Law Enforcement process. Operators must constantly be aware of the civil litigations which may arise as a result of misuse of the system, regardless of intent.
Tasks: Complete assignment as directed; maintain work areas; knowledge of general orders; respond to teletype inquiries and other related assistance under the jurisdiction of the Sheriff and in accordance with agency and Florida Department of Law Enforcement policy.
The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office requires all employees to have either an associates degree, 60 equivalent hours from an accredited college or university or the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test. The Wonderlic Basic Skills Test measures verbal and quantitative skills. Sworn *Law Enforcement and Corrections Deputies must achieve a minimum passing score of Verbal - 267 and Quantitative - 241. Civilians must achieve a minimum passing score of Verbal - 248 and Quantitative - 241.

Fee $40 Hours of Operations: Monday through Thursday 7:30am to 3:0pm Friday 7:30am to 2:00pm. TESTING IS SCHEDULED BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
