Job summary

Wexford Health Sources, Inc. is seeking a Psychiatrist for Tele Visits with occasional court appearances at the Rushville IL facility. The role is 24 hours per week, offering hands-on leadership in behavioral health within a correctional setting.

The Psychiatrist will lead evaluations, diagnosis, and med-management, while guiding the program and ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care. Required licensure, board certification, DEA and CPR are essential.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted state medical license in the state of practice.
• Board Certification – American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology required.
• Active applicable Controlled Substance Registration/License/Certification in state of practice.
• Current DEA registration
• Current CPR certification

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management for behavioral health needs.
• Lead and support the facility's psychiatric and behavioral health programs to ensure quality, patient-centered care.
• Monitor appropriate utilization of psychotropic medications and oversee clinical treatment outcomes.
• Collaborate with medical, nursing, behavioral health, and correctional staff to coordinate care and support patient stability.
• Provide clinical guidance, training, and support to behavioral health staff and institutional personnel.
• Assist with program development, quality improvement initiatives, and compliance with correctional healthcare standards.
• Ensure timely completion of clinical documentation, evaluations, and required reports.
