Telepractice Support Person Part Time - Ed Tech I
G.D. Cushing School

Certifications
- Maine DOE Certification - LIST SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation (If itinerant position)
- Valid CHRC
Performance Responsibilities
- Assists students in accessing remote virtual speech/language intervention by picking up students in their classroom (depending on age), assisting students in connecting with therapists via virtual connection, and providing general student supervision.
- Provides basic technological trouble-shooting to address sound or connection issues.
- Works directly with the speech/language pathologist to schedule students.
- Keeps the speech/language pathologist (SLP) SLP informed of student absences via email or another method if agreed upon by SLP and telepractice support person.
- Carries out assigned duties relating to the supervision of students (e.g., recess, lunch, boarding buses, class trips, to and from classes and/or other related services programs).
- Supervises students for recess, lunch, and boarding buses, class trips, and to and from classes and/or other related services programs.
- Provides classroom management functions.
- Assists in the preparation of instructional materials.
- Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information regarding students and their families.
- Maintains a high level of professionalism in following and supporting school district policies, school rules and team standards in all areas.
- Carries out other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Special Education staff person, Special Education administrator and building principal.
- Reports to lead teacher if unable to resolve a conflict with a colleague.
- Follows all necessary requirements regarding time clock procedures and adjustment slips
- Substitutes for other support staff when requested by administration (District Office).
- Follows expectations in the Special Education Ed Tech manual.
- Follows expectations in the telepractice support person training provided by RSU 9 and/or contracted virtual SLP agency.
- Is dependable, has positive work relationships, and a positive attitude towards students, colleagues, and the work tasks.
Experience
- Working with young children prefered; Ages 3-7
Working Schedule
- 2 days per week
- 5-7 hours per day
- Elementary Hours
Travel Requirements
- Travel between schools or district buildingsmay be requiredat times.
Reports To: Building Principal
Rate:
Terms of Employment: As determined annually by the District.
Evaluation: Completed annually by Principal / Director or their designee.
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
