We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented individual for the full-time Telephone Operator position. The role involves working either a daylight shift (8 am to 4 pm) or an evening shift (2 pm to 10 pm), with rotating weekend and holiday responsibilities. Purpose:

Under direct supervision, serves as the main point of contact with the public and hospital departments in routine and emergency situations.

Responsibilities:
  • Train new operators (if required).
  • Perform system data entry as needed.
  • Provide service to multiple answering service clients using individualized protocols.
  • Process emergency codes or STAT pages.
  • Initiate voice pages when required.
  • Provide Physician on-call information to requesting individuals.
  • Answer telephone calls using required phrasing and maintain good customer service across multiple lines.
  • Determine callers' needs and transfer calls accordingly.
  • Provide status updates on pages in progress.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of experience answering and processing calls through automated phone systems or customer service experience.
  • Availability to work all shifts, 7 days a week.
  • Ability to interpret procedure manuals (fire, trouble, disaster protocols).
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 34 clearance.
