Required Skills/Experience: 1 year Tele or Cardiac Tele, inpatient only. Experience with CHF, chest pain, renal, and hemodialysis patients. Experience with Amio and Cardizem drips. Experience with central lines, including HD caths, ports, and PICCs.
Experience with Tikosyn and Sotalol initiation preferred. Experience with dopamine, dobutamine, lidocaine, nitro, and milrinone drips preferred. Experience with chest tubes, other drains, and CIWA protocol preferred.
Block scheduling with no specific days may be approved based on facility requirements. RTO of 5 days or less must be made up on the back end. Holiday RTO: only 1 request per assignment.
Fast-paced, high-acuity cardiac telemetry unit. Patient population includes CHF, chest pain, arrhythmias (mostly AFib, flutter, and SVT), respiratory, renal, and hemodialysis patients; overflow includes sepsis, urology, surgical, alcohol/drug withdrawal, isolation, and GI bleed patients. Uses lift equipment, bladder scanner, interpreter iPad, and BiPAP monitoring. Monitor techs watch patients; tele monitors are available at each nurse station. Night ratios are 1:6-1:8 (estimates, not guarantees).
Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week. Every other weekend, as required by facility. No call. Night shift orients on day shift; traveler must be available the entire week for orientation.
As needed, to a similar or lower acuity unit.
5 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 12/31/2026, 01/01/2027, 05/31/2027, 07/04/2027, 09/06/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1
