Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Telemetry Med Surg in Chandler, AZ for a 13-week assignment. The Telemetry Float Pool covers multiple units across Chandler and Mercy Gilbert campuses, with 36 hours per week and 12-hour night shifts.

The role requires AZ or compact licensure, 2+ years Telemetry/acute care experience, and strong skills in cardiac drip titration, EKG interpretation, and dysrhythmia assessment. Excellent benefits and travel reimbursements are provided.

Qualifications

• Active AZ or compact RN license required at time of submission.
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in Telemetry or relevant acute care units.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Ability to interpret EKGs and titrate cardiac drips.
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to contract signing (2 attempts maximum).
• Must pass a Sim Lab test on first day of orientation.
• Copy of driver’s license required for consideration.
• Two professional references: one supervisor from past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Telemetry Float Pool within an acute care hospital setting.
• Float between Telemetry, MedSurg, ICU, Cardiac Tele, Cath Lab, ER, observation floors, and both Chandler and Mercy Gilbert campuses.
• Posts include Tele CV, Tele Neuro, and MedSurg units with patient ratios of 1:3-4 for Telemetry and 1:4 for MedSurg.
• Care for cardiac, neurological, post-surgical, and oncology patient populations.
• Ability to titrate cardiac drips such as Amio, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, Dobutamine required.
• 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a) with four weekend shifts per schedule period.
• Notify campus/unit at least 1.5 hours before shift; float to similar or lower acuity units as needed.
• Work includes care for diverse patient conditions: post-cath lab, post-vascular, CABG, post-neuro surgery, CVA, ortho, oncology, elective surgeries.
