Job summary

Providence St. Mary Medical Center in California seeks a skilled cardiology telemetry monitor to observe the Central Monitoring system, detect arrhythmias, and support department clerical duties.

Ideal candidate has completed the dysrhythmia recognition course or demonstrated rhythm interpretation, will complete an ECG test before offer, and will enroll in an internal orientation course with periodic competency assessments; BLS certification is required on hire.

Qualifications

• Must have completed the Dysrhythmia Recognition Course.
• Must have completed the Basic Arrhythmia course or demonstrate rhythm interpretation experience.
• ECG test required prior to job offer.
• Enrollment in an internal orientation course is required.
• Periodic competency assessments will be conducted.
• National Provider BLS certification from American Heart Association on hire.

Job description

Performs cardiac telemetry monitoring and arrhythmia detection through continuous observation of the Central Monitoring system as a primary job responsibility and performs department clerical duties as a collateral responsibility.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Successful completion of Dysrhythmia Recognition Course.
• Coursework/Training: Required to either have completed the "Basic Arrythmia" course or have demonstrated experience in rhythm interpretation.
• Coursework/Training: Will require applicants to complete ECG test prior to job offer being extended.
• Coursework/Training: Will be enrolled in an internally developed online course as part of orientation.
• Coursework/Training: Will have periodic competency assessment.
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications:

• H.S. Diploma or GED
• Coursework/Training: Successful completion of Medical Terminology Course.
• 6 months of experience in a hospital environment.
