Select Specialty Hospital Birmingham is seeking a Telemetry Technician / Monitor Tech for PRN Day Shift at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, AL. You will monitor patient rhythms, verify identifications, and respond to alarms to support critical care.

Applicants with LPN, EMS, or EKG experience are welcome. Must complete an EKG class within 30 days; high school diploma preferred; evenings/weekends differential applies.

Qualifications

• Must complete and pass EKG class for Monitor Techs within 30 days.
• Preferred: LPN, paramedic, or RN student with EKG training.
• Experience with EKG monitoring and rhythm interpretation is valued.

Responsibilities

• Watch and respond to alarms promptly to ensure patient safety.
• Verify identification of basic and lethal rhythms and artifact; maintain monitor alarms.
• Observe all monitors and respond to alarms as needed.
• Perform EKG interpretations: rate, PRI, QRS, QT, ST, rhythm.
• Ensure strip interpretations are validated by RN.
