Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital in Pittsburgh (inside UPMC Montefiore) is seeking a Telemetry Technician to monitor patient alarms, perform EKG interpretations, and coordinate with RNs for timely responses. The role emphasizes accurate rhythm analysis and safety in a high-acuity post-ICU setting.

Qualifications

• Must complete and pass EKG class for Monitor Techs within 30 days of start date.
• Pass required competencies on education platform and other tests as required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor alarms continuously and ensure appropriate and timely responses.
• Verify identification and interpretation of basic and lethal rhythms and artifacts; maintain EKG monitor alarms.
• Record and respond to alarms promptly; interpret EKGs including rate, rhythm, PRI, QRS, QT/QTc, ST changes.
• Ensure strip interpretations are validated by RN.
